Bob Dylan stayed at The Savoy London in 1965, while on tour in the UK and he lived at The Savoy while D.A. Pennebaker filmed the documentary “Don’t Look Back”. The Beatles, by the way, visited Dylan at The Savoy, while he was in-house.
The sequence for “Subterranean Homesick Blues ”, perhaps one of the most copied and famous of music videos of all time, was filmed on the corner of Savoy Steps, just by the Savoy Chapel. You can see the scaffolding to the left, which is where the Savoy was building what is known as the School Block (built on the site of the old Savoy Chapel choir school).
