2001  Fairmont Hotels & Resorts introduces Willow Stream Spas, its signature spa brand, offering treatments which draw on the nature, energy and essence of each spa’s surroundings.

2002 – Fairmont welcomes its first property in the Middle East, Fairmont Dubai. Its distinctive design is a modern interpretation of an Arabic wind tower or barajeel.

The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel is the first hotel in North America to offer an entire floor of hypoallergenic guestrooms.

2007 – Fairmont celebrates its Centennial with a year-long series of special events. The Fairmont San Francisco Hotel and The Plaza, A Fairmont Managed Hotel also mark a century since their openings.

Fairmont Mayakoba, Riviera Maya is home to the Greg Norman golf course and hosts a new event on the PGA TOUR – The Mayakoba Classic. It’s the first official tour event outside the U.S. or Canada.

2008 – Fairmont’s abuzz! Bees arrive into the rooftop gardens at The Fairmont Royal York, Toronto and The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Vancouver. This sweet and sustainable trend is adopted by many other Fairmonts in the years that follow.

2010Makkah Clock Royal Tower, opens in Islam’s holy city. At 76 stories, it’s the world’s tallest concrete building. Its 130 foot Royal Clock, which announces daily prayers, is five times bigger than London’s Big Ben, and can be seen from 10 miles away, we should call it Bigger Ben!

2012 – The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston and Fairmont Château Laurier, Ottawa join the elite ranks of 100-year-old hotels. Both hotels celebrate with noteworthy renovations including the restoration of the 1929 art deco pool at Ottawa’s grand Chateau.

2013 – Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers, Azerbaijan opens its doors to the public. Piercing the Baku skyline, setting an example for the future of modern hotel architecture and providing stunning views of the Caspian Sea.
