In the Frame: The Chef’s Brigade – La Table du Sommelier

This is the chef’s brigade from La Table du Sommelier in Albi, The Tarn in Midi-Pyrénées.  Why have I chosen this as one of my favourite images?  Well – it has a kind of dynamism – it shows a team that is clearly at peace with themselves – a team at the top of their game and they were proud to be shot.  Their energy pervades this image and it would definitely make me want to visit their restaurant.  It’s also really well framed.

Great shot, Alexandra!

The chefs from left to right are Quentin Nicolas, Lhoste Ronan, Mathieu Combelles, and Oliver Yves.  In the centre Head Chef Aurélien Cabrol.

About the restaurant: I have also visited La Table du Sommelier and they take you on a guided tour of the vineyards of France accompanied by some delicious cuisine.  You have wine notes given to you when you take a glass of a particular vintage and when you leave, you can buy a bottle of your favourite if you wish – at cost price.  As you might expect from a restaurant of this calibre, the owner is President of the Sommeliers of Midi-Pyrénées – Daniel Pestre.  A must visit if you are in the area.
