The Hound: An urban legend

By popular demand, we managed to secure an exclusive, one-off interview with The Hound of the Basketcases, the dog of mystery and internationally-renowned mischief-maker.  This busy urban canine lets the cameras follow him as he goes about his daily business.

Why are you known as The Hound?

Well, its my hooman, Sue’s, fault.  She knows that I am a keen investigator with a nose for the truth so she has named me for my hero sleuth, The Hound of the Baskervilles – although in her case, she said is was The Hound of the Basketcases.  She sadly thinks she is funny.

What is your role at Magellan?

I am office manager, security (see above) and stress counsellor.  It takes its toll you know as my colleagues (between us) are barking mad.

Stress Counsellor – how does that work?

Well here I am with my homie, Guy.  I keep trying to show him how to play football properly when we find a spare moment in the day.  He’s hopeless however – he just can’t pick the football up with his teeth …

And office manager?

I think I have Alexandra under my total control now so we can jointly order in office supplies etc.  You see I have to dictate as I don’t have posable thumbs ….

 Favourite walk?

West Wittering, West Sussex – the best beach in the world.

What’s with the black tie?

Well I often have to attend events so I am told I look quite dashing in my bow tie and tail!

We hear you have an extensive collection of nearly 100 collars and leads?

Complete exaggeration.  I only have around 80 – where do these rumours come from?

How can we tempt you?

Didn’t you get my rider? Well sausages are the number one gourmet item in my humble opinion.  A steak fillet, some Gorgonzola perhaps – oh and a doggie treat if you must.

Thank you The Hound for your time.

Pleasure.  Where’s my sausage …
